Henderson, NV — The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) proudly announces that Khloe Jackson, a World Languages major, has been awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, marking a significant milestone as the first CSN student to receive this prestigious honor. The Gilman Scholarship aims to support students of limited financial means in studying abroad, helping them gain global skills and knowledge.
Set to graduate in May 2025, Jackson will participate in the “CSN in Japan” program, where she will immerse herself in Japanese language and culture. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity, emphasizing how the experience will enhance her global communication skills and prepare her for a future in international work.
The Gilman Scholarship provides up to $5,000 for students to study or intern abroad, with additional funding available for those studying critical need languages. CSN students are encouraged to explore study abroad opportunities through the Education Abroad office or by visiting the Gilman Scholarship’s official website.
